What is a secure NTP server?

A secure NTP server is a much safer alternative to an Internet NTP server. Internet NTP services are attractive because they are free to use. However, free NTP servers require you to open a hole in your firewall, which compromises the security of your network.

A Galleon Systems time server receives time from a GPS or radio source instead of the Internet. It delivers that time to the devices on your network such as clocks, phones, computers and more. Hundreds of devices can be synchronised from a single time server, which makes an NTP server an excellent investment.
